I adore vintage goods and have been collecting unique things for many years. I would love to have a warehouse full of cherished finds but this probably isn’t realistic. The next best thing to do? Resell!
Hobby to Profit
I enjoy shopping for second-hand goods and “flipping” them for profit. Sourcing high-quality items and matching them with a forever home is the ultimate win-win situation. And making a few bucks to boot makes this labor of love so worth it.
Let’s Go eBay
Remember the Wild West Days of good ‘ole eBay? Sky-high auctions were all the rage! If only I had gotten a piece of the pie back then…sigh. Despite the platform having loads of competition, it continues to be a bonafide way to start a small ecommerce business for very little investment.
Reselling in Action
Research. Evaluate. Shop smart and shop conservatively. Sort, wash, and prep. Photograph. List. Sell. Ship. Rinse and repeat! And in a nutshell, that’s my simple process.
What Else
Of course, there are many nuances to selling 24/7 on the internet. One must be prepared to address spontaneous customer inquiries, equipment failure, storage concerns, and shipping blunders. The ebb and flow of supply and demand, both of which determine overall performance and sales, obviously effects the business’ bottom line.
While I wouldn’t exactly say it’s a place to become “rich”, it’s a creative way to hustle in some extra cash on the side. All in all, it’s one of the funnest gigs I’ve experienced in my adult working life. Cheers to reselling!
